Bingo! I didn’t grow up with religion. I was an atheist in my 20s, my 30s I knew there had to be a god of some sort, 39 is when I learned God chose me for something special. I believe in God and Jesus was real, but I have a hard time believing the Bible is 100% true and not altered in anyway. The Bible has a lot of truth in it, but I also think there’s some lies mixed in to control society. Religion divides us big time and I don’t believe in dividing humanity. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with me, it means a lot to me!

I think that there’s a temptation to have faith in the book instead of having faith in the Spirit who inspired the book. Is the book perfect, in that it is a complete revelation of all of the words of GOD/Christ to the entirety of Christ’s disciples? I don’t believe so. This is what separates me from the vast majority of Bible believers.
