While I don't necessarily disbelieve you (I haven't looked at your story with much depth yet, apologies) I believe Matt was trying to send you a message telling you that he isn't interested in covering it. For one reason or another - does it matter what that reason is? If you want your story to be taken seriously, go to a journalist who will take your story on instead of pestering one who is clearly not interested.
I like your style Marc. Hope in humanity only engenders disappointment like you have already experienced. Place your hope in Christ. If you have issues with the church it's because they have not honoured what God's Word instructs them, and that is principally to sacrificially love their neighbour as themselves. The church is made up of sinners like you and me, and are prone to failure unless their walk with Christ is based solidly upon His Word and prayer.
God says in His Word:
¹¹For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you a future and a hope. ¹²Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. ¹³You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart (Jeremiah 29:11-13 BSB).

Taibbi and Shellenberger are not independent freedoms fighter journalists, I realised in the end. They have their own agenda and I am not sure how “moral” it actually is.
